Welcome to the Central North Island Academy of Piping and Drumming. The Academy was founded in 2007 to foster teaching of piping and drumming in the Central North Island region of New Zealand. The focus is on development of young players and to foster existing players.

The Academy teaches from the world recognized National Piping Centre Tutor book and David Farquhar’s Drumming tutor. All teachers are experienced and have formal piping or drumming qualifications through the Royal New Zealand Pipe Band Association College of Piping and Drumming.

The Academy is fortunate to have the services of Gold Medallist and Clasp winner Greg Wilson, Principal (Piping) of the RNZPBA College of Piping and Drumming, Leading New Zealand Drummer Cameron Wilson, Principal (Drumming) of the RNZPBA College of Piping and Drumming, and leading New Zealand Piper, CNP(NZ) Gold medallist and Clasp winner Brendon Eade.
